New Year’s Resolution

Dear Jerry,

It is amazing to think that January, of 2017, is almost over. This first month of the year has been jammed pack with plenty of crazy occurrences. Most notably, Donald J. Trump became president of the United States. Just about everything you see in the news these days has something to do about him. Instead of adding more noise to all of that, I get to tell you about my resolutions for this new year.

The main resolution I’ve made for this year is to read through the entire Bible. I am going through the New Testament first and I’m currently in Acts. I’m not sure if this counts as a resolution, but I’m hoping this year I’ll be able to get somewhat of an idea of what I would like to do in terms of college, degrees and what not. Other than those, I don’t really have anymore.

I have never been the kind of person who makes resolutions every new year. I don’t really see the point to them. Why do we always have to set our new personal goals now? Why don’t we constantly set new goals so we challenge ourselves all throughout the entire year? Now, I know there are some people out there that make these massive “to-do” lists every year. Awesome. That’s pretty cool and I’m glad you enjoy it, but for me, I like to set goals when I find them in the year. In the end, you do you. If you like making tons of resolutions, go ahead. I will remain content with my two resolutions and make new goals as I go through the year.

Until next time,

Stephen

#7 New Years Resolutions

Even though we are already one month into the new year a lot has happened. One of the biggest things I would like to mention is that America officially has its 45th President in office. (And yes little liberals he is your president no matter how many times you say he isn’t.)

Instead of talking about the president or unhappy people I’m going to talk about some of my “new year resolutions.”

The only one I truly planned out is my “52 book reading challenge.”

This is so self-explanatory but I’ll elaborate for the sake of the required word count. All I’ve done is made fun categories to help me pick unique books to read this year like,

Read a book with an ugly cover-

Read a book with a one word title-

Read a book of my choice-

Read a book recommended by a family member-

read a book written by a female author-

read a book published in 2017-

etc..

You get the picture.

I’m actually really excited to see what kind of fun and interesting books I can find this year. Also I would really appreciate any book recommendations from you guys.

As I said before I didn’t really make any other resolutions and I think because firstly I really didn’t think about it and secondly because I really want to try to actually complete this goal.

This wasn’t the most exciting blog but thanks for reading it anyways.

Until next time,

Rebekah Bergquist

New Year’s Resolutions

Dear Jerry,

It’s good to be talking to you again, although I wish it was under better circumstances. I love you Jerry I really do, but me talking to you can only mean one thing, and that’s that winter break is over and we are back at school. I have been assigned to talk to you about New Year’s resolutions. I have never really been big on making New Year’s resolutions for myself but this year I made a lot. I won’t share all of them with you but I will share some that I have already made progress on. One of the top things on my resolutions list is that I made the resolution to run a 5k this year. I have signed up and will be running in the Tour De Cape 5k on the 21st. I am very excited to be running in my first race and I will be sure to tell you all about it. Here are five other resolutions out of the very long list.

-Finish out strong in my senior year of basketball
-Graduate High school
-Go on more Adventures
-Try New Food
-Watch classic movies that I’ve never seen

I can tell you Jerry so far I think I’m doing pretty well on my resolutions. My team and I played our first game this past week and we won 50-31 it was a great game and our team definitely played well. There’s not much I can say for graduating high school except for I’m trying my best and I’m halfway there. I have definitely been on lots of adventures and tried a lot of interesting new food already this year and I’m excited for what is to come. Alright Jerry let’s talk about the big one… movies. I know you hang around us One Roomers all the time so I’m sure you’ve heard something about the shock of my lack of knowledge of certain classic movies, the top two being, Charlie Brown, and Winnie the Pooh. I can tell you I fully intend to watch these classics and I have already started with watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. So don’t freak out on me Jerry I will at some point in my life watch Winnie the Pooh. Alright Jerry I will talk to you later your bud
