New Year’s Resolution

Dear Jerry,

It is amazing to think that January, of 2017, is almost over. This first month of the year has been jammed pack with plenty of crazy occurrences. Most notably, Donald J. Trump became president of the United States. Just about everything you see in the news these days has something to do about him. Instead of adding more noise to all of that, I get to tell you about my resolutions for this new year.

The main resolution I’ve made for this year is to read through the entire Bible. I am going through the New Testament first and I’m currently in Acts. I’m not sure if this counts as a resolution, but I’m hoping this year I’ll be able to get somewhat of an idea of what I would like to do in terms of college, degrees and what not. Other than those, I don’t really have anymore.

I have never been the kind of person who makes resolutions every new year. I don’t really see the point to them. Why do we always have to set our new personal goals now? Why don’t we constantly set new goals so we challenge ourselves all throughout the entire year? Now, I know there are some people out there that make these massive “to-do” lists every year. Awesome. That’s pretty cool and I’m glad you enjoy it, but for me, I like to set goals when I find them in the year. In the end, you do you. If you like making tons of resolutions, go ahead. I will remain content with my two resolutions and make new goals as I go through the year.

Until next time,

Stephen
